Year 6 Bikeability

As part of road safety, some of the keen cyclists in Year 6 have completed their level 1  and 2 bikeability training this week. Bikeability is a cycle training programme. It’s like cycling proficiency, but better! It’s about gaining practical skills and understanding how to cycle on today’s roads. Bikeability gives everyone the skills and confidence for all kinds of cycling.

At Level 1 the riders learnt how to control and master their bikes on the school playground.  Level 2 took place on the local streets, giving the Year 6 pupils a real cycling experience. The children learnt how to deal with traffic on short journeys such as cycling to school or to the local shops.
