Cherry Orchard is a two-form entry primary school with a nursery class and a SEND resource base for children with autism. We are honoured to be highly regarded within our local community as a caring and high-achieving school. We serve a community of many faiths and cultures, and we believe we have an important part to play in ensuring that differences and similarities are shared and celebrated so that our children feel valued and understand and respect one another.
One of the distinctive characteristics of our school is the friendly, supportive atmosphere in which everyone feels secure. We realise that happy, confident and responsible children will achieve their full potential in a stimulating and supportive environment. The wellbeing and development of every individual is of paramount importance at Cherry Orchard. Our core values of equality, respect, honesty, courage, friendship and understanding are an integral part of who we are, alongside our status as a Unicef Rights Respecting Gold Award school.
We are committed to providing a high-quality curriculum that is broad and balanced and provides an education that engages, inspires and enriches. We set high expectations, encourage talents and develop a love of learning that enables every individual to play an active part in their own education and success. Education is also a partnership between home and school, and we place a great deal of emphasis on our partnership with parents, as children learn best when home and school work together for their benefit.
We have a caring, hardworking and committed staff team of teachers and support staff who work closely together and with other agencies to ensure that we meet our pupils’ wellbeing and learning needs. We pride ourselves in the fact that the whole school community – staff, governors, parents and pupils alike – are constantly driving forwards to ensure that Cherry Orchard offers its pupils the very best start to their education, prepares them for the future and provides them with some of their best memories.
We would encourage you to visit Cherry Orchard and to take a look around our website, and we hope you find all the information you need. If you have any questions, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

Yesterday afternoon, RB spent a lesson outdoors searching for minibeasts. When they found one, they recorded their observations. Check out their discoveries... https://t.co/JINpDnBXl4
