Performing Arts

All pupils are given the opportunity to develop their performance skills predominantly through the English curriculum and by preparing class assemblies to celebrate festivals throughout the year.

In addition to this, Year 6 pupils have a weekly drama workshop taught by members of staff from The Birmingham Repertory Theatre.  At the beginning of the year, the Year 6 pupils visit the theatre for a backstage tour in order to gain an insight to how productions are created and performed.  This year our pupils will have the opportunity to perform their version of Treasure Island on stage at The REP Theatre in December.

Music is taught in class once a fortnight, and is also prevalent in the assemblies that all year groups prepare for their parents.  We also organise peripatetic music teachers to ensure that children have the opportunity to learn an instrument if they wish, and the children perform for their parents every term.
