Admissions

School admission arrangements set out how schools will admit pupils.

These arrangements include the published admission number (the maximum number of pupils intended to be admitted to the relevant year group), the over-subscription criteria and information on the waiting list for the school.

How to apply for Reception Class

An application must be made online at www.birmingham.gov.uk/schooladmissions or by using the local authority preference form.

How to make an in-year application

Applications made outside the normal admission round (in-year admissions) must be made directly to the school.

Admission criteria (Oversubscription criteria)

  1. Looked after or previously looked after children.
  2. Siblings (brother or sister who will still be in attendance in September 2016).
  3. Denominational claims (in the case of voluntary controlled Church of England primary schools).
  4. Distance (children who live nearest the school measured in a straight line).

Children with a statement of special educational needs (SEN)

Any child with a statement of special educational needs (SEN) is required to be admitted to the school that is named in their EHCP. This gives any such child overall priority for admission to the named school. This is not an oversubscription criterion.
